Sedation Dentistry

Some people are nervous about coming to visit the dentist, which can cause them to avoid regular check-ups and treatment procedures. Skipped appointments can lead to more serious problems down-the-road. However, putting your dental health as top priority is our job, so we offer options for sedation dentistry that will let us take care of you without adding extra anxiety to your life.

We offer two forms of sedation dentistry and will help you determine which option is best for you and your situation.

Oral Sedation

Oral Sedation is a peaceful alternative for patients who experience fear or anxiety when confronted with a dental appointment. Oral sedation - usually in the form of anti-anxiety medication - is prescribed for relieving anxiety in the hours immediately before a dental appointment. It makes lengthy appointments or successive procedures more comfortable for you.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide (also known as laughing gas) kills pain while inducing a pleasurable feeling. After approximately 5 minutes of breathing in the gas, you should feel a euphoric feeling spread throughout your body. When receiving nitrous oxide, most patients experience an initial feeling of light-headedness, gradually leading to an all-over feeling of relaxation.
